..there are as many reasons for joining a club as there are members. But one benefit is the opportunity that membership offers to meet others with similar interests, and so forming a common bond and perhaps friendships. Because of the geographical spread of FTvMC members it is unrealistic to hold regular meetings, however members who live close to each other will often meet up informally, while the club itself orgnises a number of informal 'get togethers' throughout the year in different locations, which offers as many members as possible the opportunity to come along, hopefully at least once in the year. In addition there is the bi-annual Dron-a-rama weekends.

NEWCASTLE DAY OUT
Dear whoever you are;

As you will see we have the chance of a mini meet in December. This is also going into the Christmas issue but as there is a greater chance that you attend... I am letting you know asap so you can do some planning.

Sat 13th December at the University of Northumbria, Union Ballroom, Sandyford Road, Newcastle there is a SCI-Fl and Comic book Mart. Opening time is 12 noon with an entry charge of 70p. GREMLYNZ will be there and any club member wishing to attend can meet at Steve's stall at 1.00. Steve has said if anyone attending phones him/email' s with kit wants he will try to have items put aside. See ad for number.

For those who wish to make a 'day of if club members can meet at 11.30 am at the 'Fish & Boat' restaurant located at the Newgate Shopping Centre accessible from Granger Street, above the Rail Station. This place we usually use for our meets in Newcastle so Ian, Mike, Alistair you do know where this is, only the name has changed. This is close to Forbidden Planet, Games Workshop and Woolies

. It's our plan to meet, eat then do the Collectors Show. Work our way back to the meet point so people can look in F/Planet and its an easy walk back to the station. I would guess folk will want to head off approx 5.00pm. That should aid people who are using trains.

Anyone interested in attending please contact the CLUB address ASAP.

Andrew.
