DRONE-A-RAMA |
 |
The Drone-A-Rama, or DAR, shows are held bi-annually offering members an opportunity to get together as a whole club, unlike the informal local meets, in a relaxed atmosphere that enourages the involvement of partners and younger family members. DAR is however more than just a model show, although this is obviously the core of the event giving members the chance to display their latest work, with the emphasis beeing on fun. The weekends take in auctions, raffles, displays, dealer tables, quizes, workshops, challenges, visits to appropriate attractions, and social events.

DAR 2001 |
 |
Perhaps when you last visited you read that preparations were well underway for this, FTVMC's
3rd Convention.
Well the convention has come and gone and we are now looking forward to the forth which will be held in 2003.
However there was high expectations for 2001: if the first two weekends were anything to go by, then this Drone-a-rama would be the UK's largest show devoted entirely to Sci-Fi,
Horror and Fantasy figure and hardware modelling.
But all things being equal it is more than just a model show it is a chance to swap
tips, meet and get to know fellow modellers, watch demonstrations, pick up some
bargains, have a good weekend plus help make some money for charity. Unlike a normal show our events tend to run like a typical convention, with various entertainments being organised throughout the weekend, such as quizzes, auctions, raffles, talks by special guests, fancy dress parties and much more. For anyone bitten by the modelling bug it was the ideal weekend.
